    Exclamation

That friggen Timing Belt was slipping this whole time!!! That's why it would seem to run fine when I started it - and then would go gradually worse in a few to several seconds thereafter.

Imagine starting it up - runs fine - getting it in time - and then hear it start getting gradually worse - and the point is like 8 degrees off???

What I found out was happening, was that somehow the belt was slipping teeth - not all at once, but one at first, then a few seconds, and another and another again. So it sounded like it was degrading as the engine warmed up.....and it through me so far off because I was thinking first it was the Si cam I left in there, then that I was a tooth off (which it was), then ??? I forget, 4 times I reset that Cam, "4"!

    Argghhh.

And for those of you giving timing advice - the White is TDC, and the Red is the middle of the two reds to either side is the BTDC timing mark - what you set the gun to. I was under the impression that TDC was it and the gun at 18 degrees showed the correct offset??? Ad then having that verified really pissed me off - nobody should verify something without even knowing themselves. The CHilton's manual was the only manual that even showed these BTDC marks also - I didn't even know they existed.

And when set your lash, do not do it the way the service manual says - bad idea....a hond tech said to do it lobes facing down (like I used to till I decided to do it the way the manual said - HONDA, arggghhh, their manuals suck). So turn the crank and adjust the valves this way - much quicker in fact.

Car should be running tommorrow. Did I say it's no longer MPFI? I swapped it back to DPFI to make sure it would run. The Things we do right? It will be back to MPFI soon though.

Just thought I'd share my experience on this.

I know Eric is probably Shaking his head grinning...hahaha smile

I stumbled across a B16A2 and I bought it for a keeper it seems. If anyone knows anyone looking for a polished '00 B16A2 distributor with new cap and rotor let me know. Same thing goes for a B16A2 ECU. And I am even going to sell these 94 Integra Si-VTEC Japanese Bumper Lenses - they are completely Clear - and they are JDM, I brought them back with me form my tour over there a year back (if your wondering). See other post about Civic Clear Corners too.
